Arnold Muwonge

CEO of NDE-Network

As CEO of the overarching charity, Arnold is very hands on with the charity’s work and is involved in the higher level decision-making regarding the medical centre. Right from the time when he established Kampala Children’s Centre in 2005, he had the vision to have a medical centre on-site. After overseeing the fundraising for and the building of the 3 schools on-site, he started doing the same for the medical centre in 2014. Arnold is passionate about seeing people given hope and empowerment so that they can have brighter futures.

Arnold has a BCom Economics from Makerere University, and a PGD in Design Thinking & Innovation from MIT & Colombia Business School department of Business/Managerial Economics. He is involved with teaching of the gospel, with equipping business and church leaders and he has been passionately dedicated to growing KCC and the on-site schools into amongst the finest examples of these in Uganda since he founded KCC in 2005.

Dr Dee Wevill

Medical Director

After being part of a medical mission to Kampala in association with KCC in 2012 when she saw how desperate the healthcare situation was in Uganda, Dee wanted to be involved with something that would improve healthcare for Ugandans. Since then, she and Arnold have collaborated over the establishment and running of Destiny Medical Centre. As Medical Director she has been involved in the business modelling for the clinic as well as the sourcing of the equipment that will be installed in the centre and also fundraising for the equipment.

Dr Dee, as she is affectionately called in Uganda, graduated from the University of Cape Town in South Africa with an MBChB medical degree. She spent 12 years working in primary care in South Africa including having her own practice before moving to the UK with her family in 2002 where she has been working as a GP since then. She also has her RCGP (Royal College of General Practitioners) certification as well as a PGD in The Menopause as Women’s Health is her special interest. She is presently completing a Physician CEO course run by the Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University, which is an MBA course designed exclusively for doctors running businesses.

Leah DeCesare

Champion fundraiser

Leah formed and led a team of volunteers to raise the initial funds to construct the Destiny Medical Centre building. Once that funding was underway, her team went on to raise funds for other aspects of the building, including electrical and water systems. She is honoured to be a part of bringing high- quality medical care and health education to the Kampala Children’s Centre and the community of Wakiso.

Sylvia Taylor

Sylvia Taylor

Sylvia has assisted with the oversight of the small medical clinic at KCC which treats minor on-site injuries and illnesses from its early days and has remained loyal to this role ever since. She has been very involved with ongoing fundraising for equipment and inventory for the clinic, the provision of the policies and protocols which help it to run smoothly and safely and the nurturing of the nurses who work in the clinic.

Tash darling

Clinic project manager

Tash originally trained in the UK as a general nurse, then a dental nurse and now works in youth work and social care. Tash set up the first little clinic at KCC in the basement of one of the houses. She maintained it over the years bringing in equipment and offering training to the resident nurse. She also brought in a youth team to KCC to build the spectacular playground that is still there today. She was part of the medical mission team in 2012 and has supported Dr Dee with developing aspects of DMC since then. She is excited to be part of the team who will be installing and opening the clinic in July.
